In Expiration Reminder, there are different events that occurs during the lifetime of an expiration item. Each of these event trigger a different kind of type of notification. Each type of notification comes with default email template or content.

Below you can find the different types of notifications.

  • Before the Expiration Date: these are the most basic type of notifications and are triggered before an item is about to expire. All reminders before the expiration date are called alerts.

  • On the Expiration Date: The expired notification gets triggered when an item has already expired.

  • After the Expiration Date: After expire notifications are triggered after an item has expired. For them to go out, you must configure the Send after expired alerts option on the expiration item under the Follow Up tab.

Order of precedence in notifications

Here's how Expiration Reminder determines what default notification to send:

  • If the individual reminders set in the frequency have an a custom email template, then that template will be used.

  • If the category has a custom email template setup, then that one will be used.

  • If none of these are true, then the default notification will be used.
