If a policy acknowledgement was setup to allow exceptions, the contact receiving the alert will be able to request an exception. When doing this, they can enter a comment on why they'd like the exception.

To view the exception comment and approve it, go to the policy dashboard and under responses, look for the one that requested the exception and click on View.

On the view response screen you can see the comments and the green approve button to approve it.
